The ministry of Insight to Freedom initially grew out of the experiences of John & Donna Deal as they walked a 12 year journey out of a $6.5 million debt in 1974 thru 1986. During that 12 years John & Donna continually searched God’s Word for the answers to why they, as practicing Christians, were in so much financial trouble while trying to live in a Godly manner. As they constantly searched and walked out the Word, they began to learn the ...insight... that led them out of this debt with a marriage stronger than they had before incurring the debt.

The cross was made of two rough sawn 1" x 4" boards nailed together and suspended from the ceiling by two metal wires. From my position I could see the cross from the side and, as I was looking at the cross, the following conversation took place between the Holy Spirit and me:

“Do you see that cross?” “ Yes Sir.” “ How thick is it?” “ About 3/4 inch.” “Did you know, that for Jesus to pass through that 3/4 of an inch, He had to be crucified and resurrected; that for Joseph to pass through that 3/4 of an inch he had to be put into a well, sold as a slave, and cast into prison; that for Moses to pass through that 3/4 of an inch, he had to spend 40 years on the back side of the desert; and, that for Abraham to pass through that 3/4 of an inch, he had to be willing to offer Isaac to Me?”

I wanted to comment on the Men’s Conference in Indianapolis last weekend. It was beautiful. I appreciated the leadership and speakers. I can’t even remember such a love directed towards the people who attended. It wasn’t displayed only in hugs, but in time, in prayer and in sacrifice to people who had nothing to offer in return. I was encouraged by the holiness of the hearts of the leadership, not self righteousness, but the desire to walk as Christ did. I also heard wisdom (I love wisdom) but nothing matched the love. I was fed, chastened, challenged and affirmed. Thanks for a great weekend.
